Is image upscaling processed locally in the browser?
No. The browser shows a local preview first, but the actual upscaling runs through ImagineClip AI after you click Upscale Image. You need to be logged in before the image is uploaded for processing.
How many credits does one upscale cost?
Each generated upscale result costs 2 credits. If the AI provider reports the task as failed, the task is marked as failed and the spent credits are refunded automatically.
Which formats, file size, and image dimensions are supported?
The tool accepts JPG, PNG, and WEBP images up to 10MB. For the upscaler model, very large images are automatically resized before upload to stay within the model input limit, then the selected 2x, 3x, or 4x upscale is applied.
Is AI upscaling lossless?
No. AI upscaling creates a new enhanced image. It can make edges, textures, and faces look clearer, but it is not a mathematical recovery of detail that was never present in the source.
What images work best for upscaling?
Images with a clear subject, reasonable lighting, and moderate compression work best. AI-generated images, product photos, poster drafts, portraits, and thumbnails are good candidates. Extremely blurry faces, tiny text, and heavy compression artifacts may still remain imperfect.
What does the face enhancement option do?
Face enhancement sends an extra flag to the upscaling API to improve facial detail. It can help portraits, but it may slightly change facial texture, so product images or non-face graphics can leave it off.
